PANEL 2: Sustainable Development of the Automotive Industry

China is the fastest growing and the biggest automobile market in the world. As such China represents a key element shaping the future of the industry. Recently Chinese government has initiated policies limiting car sales in order to ease the traffic congestion. The 12th Five Year Plan also strongly pushes for new technologies in the automotive industry, esp. the electric cars. New technologies require new government policies, cross-sector co-operation and perhaps new business models. Topics covered:
